Private Sites

A private site allows access to content based on only one atribute (you are on the UCSF network, or you have a UCSF identity).

Private sites are not intranets. An intranet should allow permissions to resources based on your indentity and group.

We've currently got 2 options for private sites, network protected and myaccess protected.

NOTE: Do not post HIPAA or FERPA protected information on a private site!

A private site may be appropriate for content like lab procedures and notebooks. Or other information one would prefer not to share, but is not legally protected.
